Baton Rouge is known for it’s vast entertainment options and events. Our downtown area is home to the Raising Cane’s River Center, which hosts hundreds of events each year including Disney on Ice, concerts, sporting events, and conventions. It includes a 1900-seat Performing Arts Theater where orchestras, musical performances, and theatrical plays take place.

Possibly the most “lively” event downtown is Live After Five. Music is such an integral part of southern Louisiana and this event is perfect for music lovers! Produced by the Downtown Business Association, Live After Five is recognized as the longest running concert series in Baton Rouge, seeing an estimated 100,000 attendees per year. These concerts are free and open to the public. This a fantastic outdoor event to enjoy with friends and family!

If you are like the many clients I serve, you are looking for homes for sale in Baton Rouge that will be close to work and/or school. Baton Rouge is home to so many fantastic schools. At the college level, we have three great universities: LSU, Southern University, and the Baton Rouge Community College. For school age children, Baton Rouge features some fantastic magnet schools that have received the top honor of being National Blue Ribbon Schools of Excellence. I am the proud parent of a high school student at one of these schools and also chose my home to be close to his school and after school activities. As an agent, I understand how important the decision can be for parents when purchasing a home that meets the needs of their children. If you are relocating to BR, I can direct you to resources about our schools and kid-friendly communities in our city.
